Seasons change but...
We can notice leaves turning colors and falling to the ground. Or we can just check and see Google says autumn begins on September 22.
We can also know such days are coming as God said in Genesis 8:22, "While the earth remains, seedtime and harvest, cold and heat, winter and summer, and day and night shall not cease." We are also told in Psalm 104:19, "He appointed the moon for seasons; the sun knows its going down."
Jesus also warned us about putting too much priority on the weather and not spiritual matters in Luke 12:54-56 -- "Then He also said to the multitudes, 'Whenever you see a cloud rising out of the west, immediately you say, ‘A shower is coming’; and so it is. And when you see the south wind blow, you say, ‘There will be hot weather’; and there is. Hypocrites! You can discern the face of the sky and of the earth, but how is it you do not discern this time?"
This is not to say we can forecast when Jesus is coming again. In 1 Thessalonians 5:1-2, the inspired Paul wrote, "But concerning the times and the seasons, brethren, you have no need that I should write to you. For you yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so comes as a thief in the night." This is because Jesus said in Mark 13:32, "But of that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father."
That's why we need to be ready spring, summer, fall, or winter. More than a calendar or weather report, we need to direct our attention to 2 Timothy 4:1-2 -- "I charge you therefore before God and the Lord Jesus Christ, who will judge the living and the dead at His appearing and His kingdom: Preach the word! Be ready in season and out of season. Convince, rebuke, exhort, with all longsuffering and teaching."
No matter the season, we are assured of this constant told in Hebrews 13:8 -- "Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever."
