No inflation here

Inflation frustrating you? You don't have to be old like me, who remembers when $2 would buy a teenager enough gas to drive around all night. Today $2 could get you from pump 1 to pump 3. Just in the past couple of years the cost for seemingly bare necessities at a grocery store has skyrocketed.

You want a world where prices don't rise? You better stick to Hebrews 13:8 -- "Jesus is the same yesterday, today, and forever." Why doesn't inflation affect our salvation? Because Jesus paid all one could possibly pay when dying for us. "And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross." (Philippians 2:8) You can't pay more than that! Free to us, this is anything but free. We should remember this. In 1 Corinthians 6:20 we read, "For you were bought at a price; therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God's."

This should be and is worth everything to us. We are told this by the One who paid it all: "Then Jesus, looking at him, loved him, and said to him, "One thing you lack: Go your way, sell whatever you have and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, take up the cross, and follow Me." (Mark 10:21)

This was the cost when Jesus walked the earth and remains the same today as He watches while awaiting in heaven. No inflation. Just the greatest deal we could ever want: "But the free gift is not like the offense. For if by the one man's offense many died, much more the grace of God and the gift by the grace of the one Man, Jesus Christ, abounded to many." (Romans 5:15)
